When it comes to evaluating road injury risk, AI algorithms will probably never replace the keen human eye, but they can supplement human-led analysis and provide valuable support to the work of traffic engineers in the field, in many cases by putting to use road data which they already have access to. This panel will explore opportunities to combine emerging AI applications that assist road agencies datamine their asset and traffic information in order to produce effective “heat maps” of road risk.
